When I book a tour, what happens next?
The next contact you will have is when you check in for your tour at the appropriate Dublin station at the correct time. You will be checked in by one of our Railtours Ireland colleagues in one of our highly recognisable bright yellow jackets!

Can I leave the tour before it returns to Dublin?
Yes, for example if you wish to leave one of our tours in Galway, you are free to do so. However, please advise your host on the day, otherwise they will be worried about you! Please note that there is no refund for any unused portions of the tour.

I want to go on one of your extended tours - what about luggage?
There are luggage facilities on board trains & coaches and we try to keep luggage transfers between trains and coaches to a minimum. It is recommended that large excess amounts of luggage be stored, perhaps, at your Dublin hotel for the duration of your railtour.

Can a child travel by themselves?
No, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
5.
What age qualifies for the child's rate?
Between the age of 5 and 16 years, there are separate prices for those under 5 years of age.

Can I amend my booking?
You may amend your booking prior to departure but you must do this a minimum of 24hours prior to departure of your tour.
7.
What happens if I need to cancel my tour?
With regards to cancellations made within the cancellation period, the user will be refunded the initial billed rate less any cancellation and administrative charges outlined below:
7 days or less - 20%
24 Hours or less - No Refund.
All cancellations must be advised in writing and occur before time of travel to be considered eligible for refund. Refunds will not be granted for any no show reservations.

Are the rail tours wheel chair accessible?
All rail tours are fully wheel chair accessible, where coach transfers are in place the user will need to have some mobility to be seated on the coach as Rail Tours cannot guarantee coaches with wheel chair places.
