This tour will bring you to places the visitor to Dublin rarely sees.
This enchanting walk travels through broad streets and narrow passageways, often following the line of their medieval predecessors. We will visit City Hall (except Sundays), the courtyards of Dublin Castle, the Castle Gardens & Chester Beatty Library, the Old City & Temple Bar, Fishamble Street (site of the first performance of Messiah by Handel), Christ Church Cathedral and the old City Walls. Along the way you will encounter mementoes of vast archaeological discoveries revealing our Viking and Norman past before passing Dublin’s oldest pub, the Brazen Head on our way to St Michan’s church and your intriguing visit to the mummies in the church crypt (as seen on the programme Cities of the Underworld on History Channel). You have then the option of ending your tour at the nearby Old Jameson Whiskey Distillery or the Guinness Storehouse. Discounted entrance to Jameson’s or Guinness can be arranged directly with the guide.
